Gilded Kelp inspired Original Painting (light background)

Original acrylic painting on wood panel. Inspired the giant brown kelp found in the Pacific ocean.

The background is done with cream, yellow, and old-gold colors which give it a warmth. The kelp blades are translucent navy with accents of variegated gold. You'll see a variety of colors within the gold; copper, green deep gold, light gold. 

This is painted with acrylic paint and gilded with gold leaf. The technique of gilding was used; a delicate and tedious process with many steps that gives the most vibrant metallic results. 

Edges are stained wood.

Finished with a gloss varnish.

Comes ready to hang with attached hanging wire.
