Original acrylic painting on wood panel. Inspired the giant brown kelp found in the Pacific ocean.

A navy blue background with striking variegated gold kelp. You'll see a variety of colors within the gold; copper, green deep gold, light gold. 

This is painted with acrylic paint and gilded with gold leaf. The technique of gilding was used; a delicate and tedious process with many steps that gives the most vibrant metallic results. 

Edges are stained wood.

Finished with a gloss varnish.
