Blue Kelp

This was inspired from my time teaching marine science on Catalina Island.

Giant Brown Kelp depicted with Garibaldi. (Garibaldi is the California State Marine Fish, and yes, it is this bright of an orange in real life!)

Original acrylic painting on wood panel finished with resin. Cut out acrylic "skins"  against a Dark Blue, variegated, background. Edges are (stained) wood. 

Size: 16x12x.75 inches

 This is for a single painting, however you will see a picture with two paintings in it showing its "sister" painting.

Please forgive any reflections; resin is incredibly difficult to photograph.
